Travel Policy
All travel guidelines and policies established under the
Federal travel process will be closely observed. Compliance
with laws unique to government contracts, including but
not limited to the following, will be adhered to under our
general service standards:
• City-Pair Program, a procurement program designed
for air passenger transportation services
•
Fly America Act, which requires Federal travelers to use
a U.S. flag air carrier service for all air travel funded
by the government (certain exceptions may apply).
•
Lowest Available Fare except for the constraints of the
airline contract program and the Fly America Act.
If reservations made by the Contractor are not at the lowest
available rate allowed, at the time of ticketing, Lorraine
Travel shall refund the difference to the Agency.
•
Restricted use of Premium Class Service in accordance with
Federal Travel Regulations. It should be noted that we will
not issue premium class tickets unless we have received
a signed or otherwise properly authenticated travel order
specifically authorizing that class of service
•
Processing and confirming lodging reservations and lowest
available rates in accordance the Federal Premier Lodging
Program (FPLP) and also with all acts such as the Hotel/Motel
Fire Safety Act of 1990.
•
Car reservations provided at the lowest available rates
including corporate and/or negotiated discounted rates and
from vendors participating in the Surface Deployment &
Distribution Command (SDDC / formerly MTMC) Government Car
Rental Agreement. (Exceptions apply to OCONUS travelers)
•
When arranging international travel we will, when prompted,
advise passengers of necessary health precautions and requirements, foreign
currency exchange rates, excess baggage requirements and
passport/visa requirements.
•
We will advise passengers of maximum per diem allowances
for travel in foreign areas under the Joint Federal
Travel Regulations (JFTR) for military members and of the
Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) for civilians.
